Cast your own vote and motivate 10-10 people to vote: Prof. Yogesh Singh motivates students
DU Vice Chancellor addresses
in the event “Run for Viksit Bharat” in University of Delhi
While calling upon
the students, Vice Chancellor of University of Delhi, Prof. Yogesh Singh said
that to strengthen the democracy, all the students themselves should vote and
motivate 10-10 people to vote. Prof. Yogesh Singh was
addressing as the chief guest before flagging off the “Run for Viksit Bharat”
organized at University of Delhi. On this occasion, more than 5
thousand students from various colleges and departments participated in the run.
This run was organized at 7 in the morning from gate
number one of the university and passed through gate number 4
and ended in the sports complex of the university. On this occasion, Saina
Nehwal, the first Indian badminton player to win an Olympic medal and film
actor and alumnus of DU's ARSD College Rajkumar Rao were present as special
guests.
The Vice Chancellor
said that we all want Bharat to move forward and become better. We all should
have our own contribution in that. He called upon the students to vote
themselves and motivate 10-10 people to vote and said that
this work of yours will strengthen democracy and many good things will happen
in the country in the next 25 years. He said that only
when you people do good, it will be good for the country. The Vice Chancellor
said that this country belongs to us; It is up to us to make it better and
contribute our bit. We should not become complainers, but should become givers
in our lives. Giving the example of badminton player Saina Nehwal and film
actor Rajkumar Rao, the Vice Chancellor said that just as they have brought
glory to the country, all of you should also pledge in your life to bring glory
to the country. Prof. Yogesh Singh called upon the students to find their role
in making Bharat Viksit by 2047. The country needs you all
very much.
About five thousand students including NCC and NSS, nodal officers and
sports teachers from various colleges participated in “Run for Viksit Bharat”.
During the run, arrangements were made for everything from drinking water to
ambulance. On this occasion Dean of Colleges Prof. Balaram Pani, Director of
South Campus, Prof. Sri Prakash Singh, Registrar Dr. Vikas Gupta, Dean Student
Welfare Prof. Pankaj Arora, Sports Director Dr. Anil Kumar Kalkal, Dean Culture
Council Prof. Ravinder and many officials and teachers, including thousands of
students, were present.
