Cyclone is all set to make landfall on Sunday around Puri in Odisha. However, the exact location is not yet known. There is also speculation that the cyclone may not landfall in Puri as the cyclonic storm Jawad is shifting its route.  The cyclone that was making a move towards the northwestward has started moving towards the northward. The experts expect the cyclone to be moving towards abeam Vishakhapatnam around evening on Saturday.

The cyclone is expected to make a  recurve and move towards the northeast initially and then move towards the northeastward. When the system recurves, the cyclonic storm will not move away completely from the coastline. The route of the cyclone is along the coast. It will therefore move parallel.

Experts who are keeping round-the-clock vigil upon the development opine that there is a possibility that the cyclone will weaken into a depression when it reaches Puri in Odisha and it may touch or brush the Puri coastline. The intensity of Cyclone Jawad that had been creating havoc will weaken on reaching Odisha.

However, heavy to very heavy rain will lash in regions of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and West Bengal. It is expected to cross the coastline of West Bengal on December 6. The situation may not be that grave but the fear of damages or devastation is not ruled out as there will be quite a heavy velocity of the wind.
