DU and DUSU will work together on the water problem
On the memorandum of DUSU, the Vice Chancellor immediately
instructed to install 25 water coolers
University of Delhi and Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) will now
work together on the water problem in the university campus. This decision was
taken in a meeting of DUSU representatives with the officials of DU. On this
occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh took immediate action on the
memorandum of DUSU and also issued instructions to install 25 water coolers in
the university campus.
On Thursday, a delegation of students led by DUSU Secretary Aparajita met
DU Vice Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh and handed over a memorandum to the Vice
Chancellor regarding the demands related to the university campus. The student
leaders had put their demands regarding the facilities in the university campus
in front of the Vice Chancellor through the memorandum. DUSU had given the memorandum
regarding clean and cold drinking water and other essential facilities in the
Faculty of Arts, Central Library and hostels of DU's North Campus.
The Vice Chancellor discussed all the issues seriously with the DUSU
delegation. Prof. Yogesh Singh said that the season of severe heat is going on.
In such a situation, availability of clean and cool drinking water is very
important. The Vice Chancellor took a decision with immediate effect and issued
instructions to install 25 water coolers at various places in the university
and said that more necessary steps will be taken in future. He said that DU will
take steps in collaboration with the DU Students Union (DUSU) so that the
students do not face any kind of problem.
