Delhi University announces UG admission policy for ECA, Sports and other quotas


The University of Delhi has identified 26 Games/Sports under its Sports Supernumerary Quota and 14 categories (including NSS and NCC) under the Extra Curricular Activities supernumerary quota.

It has been decided that 5% of the total sanctioned strength of the College shall be allocated for ECA and Sports supernumerary quota. The College can allocate between 1% to 4% to ECA and Sports, subject to a maximum of 5% intake of the College. In addition, not more than 20% seats of the earmarked seats of the quota shall be allocated to a single program. For example: Assuming the strength of a College is 1000, 50 seats will be for the ECA and Sports supernumerary quota of the College. If the College decides to give 3% to Sports and 2% to ECA, 30 seats can be earmarked for Sports and 20 seats for ECA. In such a case, not more than 6 seats can be allocated to the Sports quota in a particular Program; similarly, not more than 4 seats can be allocated to the ECA quota in a Program.

Candidates desirous of seeking admission based on Sports Supernumerary Quota can apply for a maximum of three Games/ Sports. They will have to upload self-attested copies of a maximum of three Merit/ Participation Sports Certificates of the preceding three (03) years issued between 01st May 2021 to 30th April 2024 only. Similarly, candidates desirous of seeking admission on the basis of the ECA Supernumerary Quota can apply for a maximum of three ECA categories. For each ECA category in which the candidate is applying, s(he) must upload a maximum of Best Five (05) self-attested certificates of the preceding three (03) years issued between 01st May 2021 to 30th April 2024 only.

For admissions to ECA and Sports Supernumerary Quota, Combined ECA Merit (CEM) and Combined Sports Merit (CSM) will be the basis for seat allocation.

There will be an additional fee of Rs.100/- (non-refundable) each for applying to ECA /Sports supernumerary quota.

In addition to ECA and Sports, the University has also earmarked certain other supernumerary quotas. These include Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD, Children/widows of Personnel of the Armed Forces (CW), Kashmiri Migrants (KM), Prime Minister's Scholarship Scheme for J&K Students (PMSSS), Nomination of seats for Sikkimese Students, and orphans.
