First Alumni Meet of Prerana Program Inspires Continued Engagement and Mentorship

Secretary of the Department of School Education and Literacy, Sanjay Kumar, virtually addressed the inaugural alumni meeting of the Prerana Program, along with Joint Secretary Archana Sharma Awasthi and other ministry officials. The meeting served as a platform for former participants to share insights and the positive impact of their experiences.

Launched in a pilot phase from 15th January to 17th February 2024 at a vernacular school in Vadnagar, Mehsana, Gujarat, the Prerana program hosted five batches, each comprising 20 participants from five states and the Union Territory of Daman and Diu, impacting a total of 100 students. The program focuses on nine value-based themes, aiming to foster personal and professional growth among students. The sixth batch is scheduled to start on 15th April 2024.

The alumni meet highlighted the transformative experiences of the students, who have taken their learnings back to their schools to inspire others. It served as an opportunity for alumni to reconnect, share their academic and career progress, and discuss their ongoing personal development needs.

This gathering not only celebrated their achievements but also encouraged the alumni to maintain connections and support the ongoing and future cohorts of the Prerana program. By fostering a sense of mentorship among its alumni, the program aims to enhance its long-term effectiveness and sustainability.

The success of the meet underscores the importance of building a robust alumni network that can continue to advocate for and contribute to the Prerana program, driving positive change and fostering innovation within their communities. The event marks a significant step in ensuring the enduring impact and evolution of the Prerana initiative.
