Government e Marketplace Launches Multilingual Learning Management System
Earlier this year, the Government e Marketplace (GeM) introduced a groundbreaking Learning Management System (LMS) designed to enhance the training of government procurement processes. This innovative platform now supports twelve official Indian languages, making it accessible to a broader range of users across the country.
The LMS features a user-friendly interface available in Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odiya, Punjabi, Tamil, and Telugu. It provides interactive, SCORM-compliant e-learning courses with dedicated libraries and a progress tracking dashboard to enrich the learning experience.
The system includes a Four-level Buyer Certification program to facilitate progressive learning and certification, allowing users to tailor their learning paths by topic or certification level. This feature is aimed at maximizing learning efficiency for both buyers and sellers.
Prashant Kumar Singh, CEO of GeM, emphasized the importance of this multilingual LMS, stating it ensures comprehensive understanding of complex public procurement processes, thereby enhancing the portal's adoption. Since its inception four months ago, the LMS has seen a significant increase in engagement, with over 4,000 users registered and more than 600 Buyer certificates issued.
This initiative not only aligns with international learning standards but also addresses the diverse linguistic needs across all Indian states and union territories, ensuring inclusive access to critical procurement training. The LMS exemplifies GeM's commitment to fostering skill development and wider adoption of the portal through an engaging and supportive learning environment.
