NCM requests aviation and railway minister to allow 'kirpan' for safety purpose

National Commission for Minorities Chairperson Iqbal Singh Lalpura who has been actively taking up issues facing minorities has expressed concern over the incidents that took place concerning the religious sentiments of Sikhs in the country on May 25, 2022.
The NCM Chairperson Lalpura has written to Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia requesting him to initiate necessary action for allowing international Sikh passengers travelling in domestic flights to carry Sri Sahib (Kirpan) as per standard permitted size.
NCM Chairperson has also written to Minister of Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw to initiate necessary action for halt of all trains at Kiratpur Sahib Railway Station in order to mitigate the difficulties being faced by the Sikh pilgrims travelling to Kiratpur Sahib.
Apart from that Lalpura has also requested the Union Railways Minister to take initiative and provide rail connectivity to Himachal Pradesh.
