NCM takes suo moto cognizance regarding stone-pelting on Sikh devotees

National Commission for Minorities (NCM) Chairperson, Iqbal Singh Lalpura has taken suo-moto cognizance of reports appearing in the media regarding stone-pelting on Sikh devotees who went to attend ‘Prakash Parv’ at Takht Sri Harimandir Ji Sahib in Patna on January 16, 2022.
As per the media reports vehicle was pelted with stones by a mob in the Bhojpur district of Bihar.
Lalpura, spoke with the Chief Secretary, Bihar and he has
informed that expeditious action has been taken and the case has been registered as per FIR No. 06/22 at Charpokhari PS against 11 named and 15 unknown persons.

Four persons including Secretary of Yagya Samiti had been arrested and sent to jail.
The injured have been provided medical aid immediately and had been escorted upto the Bihar border on that day and they have reached Punjab. He has also
assured safety of the minority communities residing and visiting Bihar.
