NHA launched 100 Microsites under ABDM in Mizoram
Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) adoption across the
nation was to be hastened by the 100 Microsites project, according to the
National Health Authority (NHA). In its capital city of Aizawl, Mizoram becomes
the first state in India to put into operation an ABDM Microsite. All
healthcare facilities in the area, including private clinics, small hospitals,
and labs, must be made ABDM-enabled in order to provide patients with digital
health services.
Speaking on the project's importance, the CEO of the
National Health Alliance (NHA) said: "The 100 Microsite project under ABDM
is a very important initiative for reaching out to the majority of small and
medium-scale healthcare providers from the private sector. The idea of
microsites was intended to provide healthcare digitalization initiatives across
the nation a powerful boost. The Mizoram team's efforts have made Aizawl the
first ABDM Microsite in India. NHA anticipates a similarly fervent response
from other state teams.
Ms. Betsy Zothanpari Sailo, Additional Secretary, H&FW
Mizoram, stated at the Microsite Launch Event in Aizawl on August 23, 2023,
"We truly think that digitization of health services may help us
accomplish our aim of universal health care. The patients will gain the most from
the use of digital services at our medical institutions and safe access to
digital health records. Our teams took deliberate efforts to carefully examine
the ABDM enabling process, and we have chosen an implementation partner to put
our first Microsite into operation in Aizawl. We are all prepared to approach
implementation in mission mode and make sure the Aizawl Microsite lives up to
its responsibilities as the nation's first ABDM Microsite.
The ABDM Microsites are predetermined geographic areas where
targeted outreach attempts would be conducted to sign up small and medium-sized
private healthcare providers. State Mission Directors of ABDM would be
primarily responsible for implementing these Microsites, with NHA providing
funding and overall direction. An on-the-ground team will be provided by an
interface agency as part of this programme to contact local healthcare
providers. This team will promote the adoption of ABDM-enabled digital
solutions for routine clinical documentation as well as raise awareness of the
advantages of ABDM and assist service providers in joining the core registries
under ABDM.
Microsites pilot programmes had previously been managed by
NHA in Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Surat. The general structure of the 100
Microsites project under ABDM has been updated to reflect the lessons learned
and experiences gained from these pilot projects.
Along with Mizoram, the states of Andhra Pradesh, Madhya
Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh have all implemented ABDM
Microsites with notable success. In the coming weeks, more of these microsites
are anticipated to be operational.
