On 10 April 2024, President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated a landmark Homoeopathy Symposium in New Delhi, marking World Homoeopathy Day. Organised by the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), the event underscored Homoeopathy's rising global appeal as an accessible and preferred treatment method.
Highlighting the Ministry of AYUSH's pivotal role, alongside various institutions, in propelling Homoeopathy's prominence across India, President Murmu underscored the essentiality of augmenting research and proficiency. She championed the introduction of rigorous scientific validation to solidify Homoeopathy's credibility within the medical sphere.
The symposium, with its theme "Empowering Research, Enhancing Proficiency," aimed to spotlight the benefits of holistic health and wellness through advanced research in Homoeopathy. The President remarked on the transformative potential of Homoeopathy in changing lives, especially for those disillusioned with traditional medical approaches, stressing the importance of empirical evidence to back Homoeopathy's miraculous claims.
The occasion also saw the unveiling of 17 significant CCRH publications, including a comprehensive mobile application - the STGH app, which offers Standard Treatment Guidelines in Homoeopathy. Additionally, approximately 80 poster presentations and exhibitions by 30 pharmaceutical entities enriched the symposium, showcasing the latest in Homoeopathic advancements.
Emphasising the integration of Homoeopathy with other medicinal systems for a holistic healthcare approach, Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, reaffirmed the government's commitment to propelling Homoeopathy through focused research, clinical trials, and stringent quality controls.
Dr Subhash Kaushik, DG, CCRH, stressed the importance of evidence-based research in Homoeopathy, calling for interdisciplinary collaboration to push the boundaries of Homoeopathic science.
The symposium also paid tribute to Padma Awardees in the Homoeopathy sector, with insights shared by Dr Anil Khurana, Chairman, National Commission for Homoeopathy, and other dignitaries, reflecting a concerted effort towards elevating Homoeopathy on the international stage.
