SECL to provide free NEET coaching in MP and Chhattisgarh
Students in Class 12 would receive free residential medical coaching from the Chhattisgarh-based Coal India Subsidiary, SECL. The company will mentor and coach students to help them get ready for the national medical entrance test, or NEET, as part of its CSR programme, "SECL ke Sushrut."
The decision will considerably help students from low socioeconomic backgrounds who want to become doctors but cannot afford medical training, especially those who live in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh's coal-belt villages.
Students will be chosen for coaching through a competitive exam using the same format as NEET. A total of 35 pupils will receive tutoring as part of the curriculum in collaboration with a private coaching centre situated in Bilaspur. The course will be residential, include boarding and housing options, regular national-level test series, and mentoring.
Students must go to the SECL website at https://secl-cil.in/index.php to view the program's complete terms and conditions and to register. The deadline for registering online is September 6, 2023. On September 10th, there will be a selection test.
The students must have received at least 60% of the required marks in Class 12 in 2023 in order to be eligible to apply for coaching.
The applicant must be a resident of Madhya Pradesh or Chhattisgarh and must live or attend school within a 25 km radius of the SECL establishment in the operating districts of Korba, Raigarh, Koriya, Surguja, Surajpur, Balrampur, and Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur in Chhattisgarh, as well as Umaria, Annuppur, and Shahdol in Madhya Pradesh.
Additionally, the applicant's parents' or guardians' gross income should not exceed Rs. 8,00,000 (Rupees Eight Lakhs) each year. Before being admitted to a coaching programme, you must present an income certificate from the relevant government agency, your parents' income tax return, or the name of your child as it appears on their Below Poverty Line (BPL) card or Antyodaya Anna Yojana card.
According to the Ministry of Coal's policy, reservations will be made for 14% of the total seats available for coaching, 23% of the seats for STs, and 13% of the seats for OBCs.
