WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2019: Trees are our best Friend

*Aarav Seth WE LAUNCH THIS COLUMN ON THE WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2019 AS PER OUR CONTINUED COMMITMENT TO SOCIALLY BENEFICIAL, ECO FRIENDLY (GREEN) AND SUSTAINABLE INITIATIVES BY PEOPLE, INSTITUTIONS AND GOVERNMENTS. Trees are our best friend. Trees play a very important role in our life. We cannot live without them. It is a boon given by God. They give us oxygen by inhaling carbon dioxide which we exhale and filter it in out as oxygen. Trees play a great role in purifying the air. Only four mature trees planted around a family of four members can give them oxygen for their whole life.Mature trees planted properly around a building can reduce air conditioning up to 50%. Their parts are used for many things like its bark for fuel and medicinal leaves for curing the disease. Trees also help to control the pollution. We cannot even plant trees in the frequency we cut them in a minute. In every, minute 5660 trees are cut down and in every year 3.5 billion trees are cut down. Trees refresh us which enhances our happiness and peace, (like a person walking under a bright sun, he becomes happy to find a shelter under a tree) but when the trees are being cut down so widely then there will be no happiness in the world. In 1970, Indonesia had 170 million of trees but till the end of the 20th century there were only 100 million trees were left. If this will continue then our future generation will struggle a lot.We think that trees are from rivers but actually rivers are from trees, without trees all the rivers will dry up but we are still cutting down the trees. But we can do something about this situation, if there are trees in 1 km area at both the side of the river then there will be no problem of drying up the rivers. So, let’s take a pledge to plant a tree on our every birthday which will help to celebrate our birthday happily and benefit for our environment and generations to come. Let’s work for the environment. Trees are the oldest living being on earth, it is our responsibility to save them.Lend a hand to save the land! Please watch this video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQpjPgJquDY&feature=youtu.be*Aarav Seth, a school student has since last many months motivated and led plantations of over thousands trees at Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, his home and wherever possible making the people around join him on their holidays and weekends. He celebrates his birthday and also anniversary of his parents by taking and giving only trees as gifts or return gifts. He asks and inspires everyone he meets for this.
