New Delhi: Nitin Gadkari Launches the Book "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam: The Way Forward for Global Peace"

New Delhi – 8 Oct, Hon'ble Shri Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways, launched the book Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam: The Way Forward for Global Peace at his residence. Co-authored by Dr. Markandey Rai, Dr. Prabhas Chandra Sinha, and Dr. Surendra Kumar Pathak, the book’s unveiling was attended by social leaders Sunil Joshi and Ganesh Verma, alongside other distinguished guests.

This book, rooted in the ancient Indian philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam ("The World is One Family"), delves into its modern-day applications in fostering global peace. It highlights how this timeless principle can serve as a guiding framework for global unity, inclusivity, and sustainability, addressing current global challenges.

The authors meticulously compiled over 500 references and more than 1,000 web sources, presenting a comprehensive analysis of the relevance of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. The book not only discusses its philosophical depth but also offers practical solutions for global governance, policy-making, and international cooperation. By weaving together historical, spiritual, and cultural perspectives, the authors suggest strategies for incorporating this philosophy into platforms such as the G-20 and the United Nations to promote a more peaceful and inclusive world.

Dr. Surendra Kumar Pathak, the book's principal investigator, emphasized the book's relevance in today's global context, offering concrete strategies to apply Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam in addressing contemporary issues.

The book is published by JNANADA PRAKASHAN (P&D), New Delhi in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Universities and the Indian Institute of Peace and Global Security.

On World Teachers' Day, October 5, 2024, the book was also released by Central Minister of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, Mr. Ram Nath Thakur, at the India International Centre (IIC), New Delhi.
