Uttarakhand State Day was celebrated at the 40th India International Trade Fair (IITF), Pragati Maidan. On this occasion, State Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj who was the chief guest for the evening inaugurated the Uttarakhand pavilion. He was accompanied by his wife.

Minister said Uttarakhand has opened the door for easy trade. It has introduced the single-window model encouraging ease of doing business.

Addressing the gathering the minister said, "We have all the natural resources. Our state is rich with natural beauty. From the river to hills and the iconic temples". "We are now focusing on winter tourism which will be significant as during winters the doors of Kedarnath, Badrinath, and other shrines close down but rituals are held in various temples respectively. We are offering tourists to go and offer prayers in these temples".

Satpal Maharaj requested all to visit Uttarakhand that is also called the Dev Bhumi. He said apart from tourism the state is also developing domestic and export markets for its spices and other household items. The state is always first on fashion statement as the woolens from caps to waistcoats are very popular among people.

Uttarakhand has a rich cultural heritage especially the folk songs and folk dances of the Garhwal region that simply compels you to dance and sing. Artists from various districts of Garhwal enthralled the audience with traditional dance and music.
