Deaf and mute, mentally challenged minor girl brutally gang-raped in Alwar, Rajasthan. Police clueless. Political catfights and blame-game are on

National Commission for Minorities (NCM) Chairman, Iqbal Singh Lalpura, has taken suo-moto cognizance of reports appearing in the media regarding the sexual assault of a girl reportedly belonging to Minority Community at Alwar, Rajasthan on January 11, 2022. The girl who is unable to hear or speak was admitted to a Jaipur profusely bleeding as the rapists inserted sharp objects inside her private parts. Her condition was so serious that a team of doctors decided to operate on her immediately.

The incident once again questions the administration and society on what was done to ensure the safety and security of women after the brutal rape of Delhi Brave Heart that was called by various names including Nirbhaya. Big convictions were made by the government that even amended the Rape Laws but the situation remains the same. Rapes, gang rapes, molestations, and stalkings are taking place as before.  The political catfights and blame game has been taking place ever since the shameless incident surfaced.

On Saturday, the NCM has sought a report on the following points from the Chief Secretary, Rajasthan under section 9(d) of NCM Act, 1992:

i) Whether the accused have been arrested or not?
ii) If arrested under which section they have been arrested?
iii) If not, what action has been taken to arrest them?
iv) What preventive measures are being taken to avoid such incidents in the future?

The Chief Secretary, Rajasthan has been asked to submit the report latest by January 24, 2022.

On that fateful day, a minor girl was found in an abandoned condition profusely bleeding on the Tijara flyover in Alwar, Rajasthan. Like Nirbhaya, foreign objects were inserted in her private parts. She underwent surgery after which she was declared stable.

The Alwar Police registered a case at the Malakheda police station. A case was lodged under the POCSO Act and the IPC Section for rape. The police have formed six teams scanning all the CCTV footage. Superintendent of Police Tejaswini Gautam formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT). However, the rapists are still absconding.
