On Thursday, India reported over 90,300 COVID-19 positive cases and more than 300 deaths. This single-day spike is enough to raise concern for the respective state governments and Central government which is keeping a close vigil on the developments.

According to experts the only way to stay is safe is to follow the COVID restrictions. The medical fraternity has expressed its concern over the increase of COVID numbers. State governments through media and other public platforms have requested the people to not only follow the COVID protocols but also ensure they step out of their homes or where ever they are residing only when they have an emergency.

There has been a misconception that the Omicron variant is mild just because it has mild symptoms. The Omicron cases have reached over 2,630. States like Maharashtra (797) (tops the tally), followed by Delhi (465), Rajasthan (236), and Kerala (234).

According to recent data, the daily positivity rate stands at 6.43%. The active caseload in the country reached 2,85,401, while 19,206 recoveries were recorded in the last 24 hours.

The respective state and Central governments are taking adequate measures to check the further spreading of COVID by imposing night curfew, and weekend curfew. Even contentment zones have been created. However, the public too will have to show proactive efforts and follow the COVID restrictions stringently. People should remember by doing so they are not doing any charity or services to the country or government but ensuring the safety of themselves and their near and dear ones.
