There has been a huge uproar during the past few days over the so-called religious leaders spitting venom against minorities from two Dharam Sansad - One at Haridwar, and the other at Raipur in Madhya Pradesh. The Raipur incident was so conspicuous that even the main organizer of the event and Chairman of Gau Seva Aayog, Ram Sunder Das stood up to condemn the abusive language Kalicharan had used against the minority community and Mahatma Gandhi. Das even walked out of the event in protest.

The National Minorities Commission (NCM) held a press conference to discuss developments of various issues that NCM had taken up. However, reporters were in no mood to drift away from the Dharam Sansad issue. Addressing the questions NCM Chairman, Iqbal Singh Lalpura said, "Anybody trying to spread communal unrest will not be spared but at the same time there are ways to tackle such issues. You can understand these are sensitive issues and needs to be dealt with accordingly".  "Such issues will not be tolerated and the guilty would be punished", added Lalpura referring to the FIR filed against Kalicharan.

Speaking on this occasion, NCM Vice Chairman, Atif Rasheed said, "This country will not be ruled by communal forces and if required stringent action will be taken against these hate speech mongers".

Speaking on the Gurugram incident, Rasheed said, "NCM is keeping a strict vigil on the issue and we are also going there to take stock of the situation but we want both communities to resolve this issue amicably and end the matter as early as possible".
