three-day seminar
A
three-day international seminar is being organized by the Department of
Political Science, University of Delhi on Revisiting
Ideas of India from 'Swaraj' to 'New India'. The
International Seminar, organized as part of the centenary celebrations, will be
inaugurated on May 19 at the Multipurpose Hall of the University of Delhi
Sports Complex, with Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah as the Chief
Guest while the Union Minister for Education and Skill Development and
Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan will be the Special Guest of the opening
ceremony. The inaugural function of the seminar will be presided over by the
Vice Chancellor of Delhi University, Prof. Yogesh Singh.
After the inaugural session, there will be a special lecture by Mukul Kanitkar, the National Organization Secretary of the Bhartiya Shikshan Mandal. He will throw light on his perspective on various aspects of the theme of this International Seminar. After the inauguration of this seminar, which will run till May 21, the remaining academic sessions will be held in the Conference Centre of the University.
It is worth noting that the University of Delhi is celebrating its centenary
year from May 1, 2022 to May 1, 2023. During this, many
programmes/ events/ activities are being organized throughout the year.
The journey from Swaraj to New India is a journey to re-establish our rich social, cultural, spiritual and holistic existential heritage over the centuries and to embody the ideas that once made us a prosperous civilization beyond the realm of imagination. This international seminar organized by the Department of Political Science, University of Delhi envisages understanding this journey of India through the ideas that have emerged in the recent past from the last two centuries.
Swaraj, Vande Mataram, Swadeshi, Truth and Ahimsa, Antyodaya,
Sarvodaya, Nationalism, Internationalism, Socialism, Democracy, Hindutva,
Integral Humanism, Secularism, Social Justice, Samarsta (Social Harmony), Badhutva
(Fraternity) and Suraj (Good Governance) are some of the sub-topics of the
International Seminar.
