IITF 2021: MSME Minister inaugurates NSIC and Khadi India pavilions

Minister for Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises  Narayan Rane inaugurated the MSME Pavilion at the 40th India International Trade Fair (IITF). This year over 316 MSMEs across India are participating in the fair that will be on till November 27. 

There are around 20 sectors including Ayush, ceramics, chemical, cosmetics, electrical/electronics, embroidery, food, footwear, handicrafts, handloom, home decor, honey, jute, leather, metallurgy, gems & jewellery, textiles, toys, wood, etc.

More than 121 MSEs from across the country are participating in the NSIC pavilion such as Rajasthan, Karnataka, Punjab, Gujarat, Maharashtra, UP, Haryana, West Bengal, Telangana, etc.

The MSME Minister said, "Such fairs gives a big platform to budding entrepreneurs not only to showcase their products but also gain experience of how to market their products". 

Rane deserves compliments for his initiatives to promote women empowerment on a global platform. The MSME pavilion at the 40th IITF has opened the doors to a large number of women entrepreneurs, SC, ST and minority entrepreneurs across the country. 

Only 20.37 per cent of enterprises were owned by women as per the MSME Ministry’s 2020-21 annual report out of 6.33 crore MSMEs in the country. The MSME Ministry already runs International Cooperation Scheme to provide financial assistance for airfare, space rent, freight charges, advertisement & publicity charges, and entry or registration fees on a reimbursement basis to participating MSMEs in exhibitions and events across different countries.
