National Zoological Park celebrates 69th Wildlife Week under 'Partnerships for wildlife conservation' theme

The National Zoological Park launched the 69th Wildlife Week celebration with the subject "Partnerships for wildlife conservation," recognising the individuals who are making a difference, on the theme of UN World Wildlife Day 2023, and activities in relation to wildlife conservation.

Every year, in honour of Mahatma Gandhi's birthday and in keeping with his teachings of ahimsa and compassion for all living things, Wildlife Week is observed. The week's events in the National Zoological Park are intended to encourage broad engagement in support of the conservation cause. "Wildlife Week - 2023" will be observed at the National Zoological Park from October 2 to October 8, 2023.

Floral tributes to the animals who have passed away in the National Zoological Park opened today's programme. Following this, officials including Bivash Ranjan, ADG (WL), MoEF&CC, Sanjay Shukla, Member Secretary Central Zoo, and Faiyaz A. Khudsar, Biodiversity Expert, University of Delhi, lit a lamp to kick off the proceedings. Activities to raise awareness included Nukkad Natak, a biodiversity expert discussion, a mission LIFE video, and a commitment.

Students who took part and zoo employees continued to be enthusiastic throughout the programme. This event was planned at the National Zoological Park with the intention of raising awareness of animals, biodiversity, and the idea of an environmentally friendly lifestyle that involves spending time in nature. All participating students received souvenirs and certificates of participation.
