Prime Minister Modi meets Prime Minister Al Thani of Qatar at Doha

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, in his first engagement today at Doha, Qatar.

The two leaders exchanged views on expanding bilateral cooperation in sectors such as trade, investment, energy, finance, and technology. They also discussed recent regional developments in West Asia and emphasized the importance of upholding peace and stability in the region and beyond.

Thereafter, Prime Minister attended a dinner hosted in his honour by the Prime Minister of Qatar His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi arrived in Doha today on an official visit to Qatar. This is Prime Minister’s second visit to Qatar, he first visited Qatar in June 2016.

Prime Minister was received by HE Soltan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi, State Minister for Foreign Affairs at the airport.


Today the Prime Minister also met the Amir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and hold talks on further bolstering India-Qatar ties in various sectors, including trade and commerce, energy, culture and people-to-people linkages.
