'Amrit Kaal Vision 2047', a long-term strategy for the Indian maritime blue economy, will be unveiled by the prime minister during the programme. The strategy specifies tactical actions meant to advance port infrastructure, encourage environmentally friendly behaviour, and foster global cooperation. During the programme, the prime minister will also dedicate more than 300 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth more than 7 lakh crore for international and domestic cooperation in the maritime industry.

The summit is the nation's largest maritime event. Ministers from all over the world—representing nations in Europe, Africa, South America, and Asia—including central Asia, the Middle East, and the BIMSTEC region—will attend. Global CEOs, business executives, investors, officials, and other stakeholders from around the world will also be present at the summit. Additionally, the Ministers and other dignitaries will represent a number of Indian states at the summit.

the future of ports, decarbonization, coastal shipping, inland water transportation, shipbuilding, repair, and recycling, finance, insurance, and arbitration, maritime clusters, innovation and technology, maritime safety and security, and maritime tourism, among other topics, will all be covered during the three-day summit. The summit will be a great opportunity to promote investment in the nation's maritime industry.

Mumbai hosted the inaugural Maritime India summit in 2016. Virtually in 2021, the Second Maritime Summit was held.
