Special focus on Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand at 40th IITF

Delhi is all decked up to hold the 40th India International Trade Fair from November 14 to 27 at Pragati Maidan. The partner state is Bihar while the states of focus are Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand.


This year the excitement is at its helm as last year there was no fair due to the COVID pandemic situation. The India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) managing director LC Goyal informed more than 3,000 exhibitors, state governments and central ministries will be participating in this year's trade fair.  The first five days will be reserved for business hours and the last entry will be permitted at 5:30 pm. General visitors will be allowed to enter IITF between 9am and 5.30pm.  

One of the major attractions this year will be the spacious new halls which are part of the international exhibition-cum-convention centre project at Pragati Maidan were inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last month. The minimum sizes of stalls have been increased from 9 sq m to 12 sq m while the passage pathway width has been raised from 4 m to 5 m. Last-minute preparations are taking place at war footing at Pragati Maidan.  

This year's Trade Fair will take place over an area of 70,000 sq m which is almost three times the size of the event held in 2019 (23,000 sqm). Over 3,000 exhibitors, state governments and central ministries will be participating in the fair. There will be only nine overseas countries - Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bahrain, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, UAE, Tunisia, and Turkey.

ITPO informed steps have been initiated keeping COVID protocols in consideration. Over 300 Civil Defence volunteers will be deployed to ensure COVID precautions are maintained. The ticket sales will be regulated and the maximum number of visitors at any given time inside the venue will be between 35,000 to 40,000.

Seelampur, Inderlok, Netaji Subhash Place, Rohini West, Rithala, Noida Electronic City, Sector-52 Noida, Noida City Centre, Noida Sector -15, Akshardham, Shahdara,   Indraprastha, Barakhamba station, Shaheed Sthal New Bus Adda, Mohan Nagar, Dilshad Garden, and Mandi House.

The exhibitors will be using parking near Bhairon Marg.
