Union Agriculture Minister inaugurates EEI Golden Jubilee Auditorium for empowering the agricultural community in Hyderabad


The Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Narendra Singh Tomar has inaugurated the EEI Golden Jubilee Auditorium today at Extension Education Institute (EEI), Rajendranagar, Hyderabad. Singireddy Niranjan Reddy, Minister for Agriculture, Co-operation & Marketing, Govt. of Telangana; Shri Manoj Ahuja, IAS, Secretary, Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India, M Raghunandan Rao, IAS, APC & Secretary, Commissioner of Agriculture, Govt. of Telangana and Vice Chancellor, PJTSAU and other dignitaries were also present on the occassion.

Addressing on the occasion, Narendra Singh Tomar said that India in the context of G20 focuses on One family One earth and One future. He reiterated that our farmers were helping in feeding the entire globe. Indian Agriculture is the backbone of our country and agriculture is the priority sector in the country. He further said that Central Government is supporting establishment of Startups and Training centres focusing on strengthening the Indian Agricultural Research. During the Covid period Indian farmers have shown great resilience in achieving good productivity. PM Kisan a novel initiative of Government of India is helping the small and marginal farmers with financial support for input procurement. Government of India is focusing on KVKs and EEIs to develop master trainers in Agriculture. In this connection, the newly constructed EEI auditorium is a testament to the government's vision of providing modern facilities to the training institutions for enabling scientists, researchers and stakeholders exchange knowledge, ideas, and expertise.

Singireddy Niranjan Reddy expressed that the support mechanism offered by the Telangana Government to the farmers is enabling them to increase their incomes and uplifting socio economic conditions. He congratulated EEI Hyderabad for building capacities of officials relentlessly.

The Secretary, Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India, Manoj Ahuja, expressed that institutes like EEIs are conducting Skill based courses and guided the scientific fraternity to work in coordination to offer the realistic solutions to farmer problems. EEI, Hyderabad is fully funded by Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi which is under the administrative control of Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agriculture University, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice chancellor, PJTSAU detailed about University achievements and congratulated EEI on their new facility. The new EEI Auditorium is equipped with latest audio-visual aids to facilitate video conferencing, workshops, conferences, seminars amongst all the stakeholders of EEI.
