With over 1 lakh registrations, Maritime India Summit 2021 set to become India’s biggest Maritime conference

44 CEOS AND 79 SPEAKERS TO PARTICIPATE FROM ACROSS THE GLOBE IN MARITIME INDIA SUMMIT 2021 Dr Sanjeev Ranjan, Secretary, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, today chaired the press briefing for the upcoming Maritime India Summit 2021, scheduled to happen from 2nd to 4th March 2021. Maritime India Summit 2021 is receiving tremendous responses from the invited countries. India’s biggest maritime summit has received more than 1 lakh registration from across the globe. Total 44 CEOs has confirmed participation, including 22 international and 22 national CEOs. Also, 79 speakers have confirmed their participation where 43 are international speakers and 36 are from India. The Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways (MoPSW) has created a compendium of 400 investable projects with an investment potential of INR 2.24 lakh crore (USD 31.07 Bn). These projects will provide investment opportunities across 11 maritime sectors including port infrastructure development, inland waterways transport and Coastal Shipping, Hinterland Connectivity and Multi-Modal Logistics. Additionally, more than 370 MOUs totalling to about INR 2.5 Lakh Crore of investments have been signed by various Ports, Agencies and Authorities of MoPSW. International participants are from countries like USA, Russia, Denmark, Brazil, Japan, Sweden, Singapore, Netherlands, etc. Some of the prominent speakers are mentioned below: • Wan Chee Foong, Regional CEO-Middle East South Asia and Head of Group Business Development, PSA International Pvt Ltd• Eugene D Seroka, Executive Director, Port of Los Angeles• Tanaka Toshimitsu, Director General, Osaka Ports and Harbors Bureau• Kristof Waterschoot, Managing Director, Port of Antwerp International• Dr Cleopatra Doumbia-Henry, President, World Maritime University• Per Erik Dalen, Chief Executive Officer, Blue Maritime Cluster, Norway• Thomas TING, Chief Technology Officer, Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore. These MoUs are focused on attracting investment, skilling and generating employment in the sector. The signing of these agreements will also help in streamlining the process of ship manoeuvring resulting in more business to the ports and economic stability to the sector and its stakeholders. The MIS 2021 will provide a unique platform which will have physical and virtual presence of prominent shipping and transport ministers/ dignitaries from across the world. Maritime States of India will participate in the Summit through dedicated sessions. The Summit will also include an exclusive CEOs’ forum and various thematic/ breakout sessions.
